Mark-making is a simple practice of different lines, dots, patterns, and textures. These marks are sometimes collected from random drawings from her sketch books, the photographs she has taken or marks she found in daily life. She enjoys this practice in enamelling as the results are unpredictable; the controlled mark-making is then subjected to the fluctuations of the kiln firing time and temperature.
These elegant earrings are handmade using a hand-drawn sgraffito technique, which involves covering the multiple fired enamelled surfaces in a final white coat and then scratching the top layer off to reveal the black surface underneath. It is then fired one last time. The studs are silver.
Dimensions: W26mm x L32mm x D17mm
The enamelled surface is delicate - please handle with care.
